Ahad Cheema allowed to travel abroad

LAHORE: An accountability court on Friday granted permission to Ahad Cheema, adviser to the caretaker Prime Minister (PM) to travel abroad on an official visit, according to HUM News.

Cheema had moved the court seeking approval for proceeding on an official visit scheduled from August 20 -27.
During the hearing, the court sought a report from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) into the cases against the former civil servant..
Cheema, a former Director General (DG) Lahore Development Authority (LDA) was arrested in February 2018 and remained incarcerated for over 3 years, facing trial in different references including the Ashiana-i-Iqbal case, filed against him by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
In June last year, Cheema a BPS-19 Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) officer resigned from service.
Subsequently, the then Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appointed him as adviser on establishment.
