KARACHI: A private school in Karachi has introduced an Artificial Intelligence (AI) robot teacher, marking a significant step in revolutionizing education in Pakistan.
The AI robot teacher, made its debut at Happy Palace School Asfahani Campus, located in Gulshan Iqbal Karachi. The Robot teacher not only answers children’s questions promptly but also introduces them to new technology.
The AI teacher “Miss Aaini” has become a favorite of the students, who say that they enjoy her teaching styles and she can reply to them in multiple languages besides Urdu and English, according to a report by Express News.
Created by engineer Hassan Siddiqui, the robot took seven months to design and was assembled using locally sourced materials, including fiberglass, plastic, and artificial hair purchased from Karachi markets.
Miss Aaini, the AI teacher is equipped with the ability to respond in over 20 languages and assist students with various subjects.
Schools in twin cities to reopen tomorrow
According to Muhammad Asif Khan, head of Happy Palace School, the initiative aims to familiarize students with advanced technology while enhancing their learning experiences.
“Robotics is becoming common globally, and we want our students to benefit from this innovation,” he said in the interview.
School Principal Mrs. Siddiqui revealed that Miss Aaini has been formally appointed with a symbolic salary of one lakh rupees.
The robot operates solely on Wi-Fi and is expected to have its features upgraded over time to better serve the students’ educational needs.
