AJK speaker’s convoy comes under attack in Muzaffarabad

MUZAFFARABAD: A convoy of Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Latif Akbar came under attack in the suburb of Muzaffarabad, which resulted in injuries to at least two people.
Chaudhry Latif himself was unharmed in the firing.
According to sources, Chaudhry Latif Akbar was on his way to attend a political meeting in Khawra, a suburb of Muzaffarabad, when his convoy was fired upon on the way, injuring two people.
Chaudhry Latif Akbar confirmed that his convoy was fired upon while he was going to attend a meeting of his supporters.
He that three days ago, his rivals had issued threats on social media, and he had reported the matter to the local administration and police, but no action was taken.

He said that two people were injured in the firing, who had been shifted to the hospital.
After the firing on the convoy, the situation turned tense as Muslim Conference workers and police exchanged firing.
Assistant Commissioner Rural Hammad Bashir said that the administration was taking steps to control the situation.
He said that a few people fired and pelted stones at the convoy of the speaker.
According to AC rural, a PPP worker has been injured after he was hit by a bullet and a stone. He said that action was being taken to arrest the shooters.
