complaints resolved

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday stated that it has resolved 76 poll-related complaints.

In a post on social media platform X, ECP In-Charge Monitoring and Control Centre Haroon Shinwari described the nature of the complaints as minor saying that most complaints received were related to minor quarrels among the workers at polling stations, and all of which were quickly resolved.

Earlier, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja affirmed that the election process was conducted with 100 percent transparency and peace. He emphasized that the polling proceeded without any disruptions.

During a visit to the Election Commission Pakistan’s headquarters, while addressing the media, he assured that no citizen was prevented from exercising their voting rights.

He explained that in the event of any connectivity issues, the presiding officer would visit the returning officer’s office to obtain Form 45. Once Form 45 is uploaded to the Election Management System (EMS), it would automatically reach the returning officer once internet service is restored.

Regarding the extension of polling time, he clarified that according to the law, if there was a request to extend voting hours until noon, it would have been granted. He cited the example of three polling stations in Gujarat where the time was extended upon the request of the relevant returning officers.
