Alleged police encounters in Karachi, accused arrested


KARACHI: Law enforcement in Karachi late on Monday reported two separate alleged police encounters in the city, resulting in the arrest of two accused.

In Khwaja Ajmer Nagri, an alleged police encounter resulted in the arrest of one suspect, while an accomplice managed to escape.

According to the police, arms, cash, and a motorcycle from the suspect was seized.

Another alleged police encounter occurred near Muhammad Shah Graveyard in northern part of the city.

As per police reports, the encounter resulted in the arrest of a wounded suspect. The law enforcers reportedly recovered arms, stolen money, and a motorcycle from the accused.

At least two people in a firing in Karachi

Meanwhile, a firing near a patrol pump in Jamshed Quarters, a residential area of the city.

At least two people sustained injuries in what the police report was a robbery attempt when the victims resisted.

The injured were promptly transferred to Civil Hospital for medical treatment. The matter is currently under investigation.

Similarly, a traffic accident on Korangi Number Five Road claimed the life of one person. Authorities along with rescue teams responded to the scene promptly.

In a separate incident, police conducted an operation in block 7 of Gulshan-e-Iqbal, a residential neighbourhood in the city. As per police reports, four alleged suspects were apprehended.

According to authorities, weapons and multiple mobile phones were recovered from the accused. The police suspect the accused to be involved in multiple robberies in the surrounding areas.

Similarly, at least one person sustained injuries in a robbery incident near Babar Market Landhi. The matter is currently under investigation.
