Anchor Ayesha Jehanzaib’s husband booked for allegedly beating her

LAHORE: TV anchor Ayesha Jehanzaib’s husband, Haris Ali, has been booked for assaulting her.

The Sarwar Road police station registered a first information report (FIR) against Ali following a complaint by Ayesha Jehanzaib.

A local court in Lahore has approved a two-day physical remand of Ali and handed him over to the police.

She has alleged that Ali subjected both her and their children to verbal and physical abuse. Ayesha filed a case against her husband Haris for allegedly attempting to murder her after a medical checkup.

Haris Ali is Ayesha Jehanzaib’s second husband, whom she married after the passing of her first husband. Ayesha had three children with her former husband and has two children with Haris, her second husband.

During a TV show, Ayesha revealed that her mother had pressured her into remarrying after she was diagnosed with cancer. Although she initially resisted, she eventually yielded to her mother’s insistence. The TV host further disclosed that Haris was her sole male friend before they married.

Chief Minister (CM) Punjab has taken notice of the incident.
