ANF busts ring involved in supplying drugs to students

ISLAMABAD: In a significant crackdown, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) dismantled a drug-peddling racket that was involved in supplying illegal substances to students at a major educational institution in Islamabad.

Two suspects, including a woman, were arrested during the operation, an ANF Headquarters spokesman confirmed.

The spokesman stated that the operation was conducted following a tip-off indicating that a woman was delivering drugs to the educational institution.

The ANF apprehended the woman at the gate of the institution, where she was found to be in possession of illicit substances.

Further investigations revealed that one of the suspects arrested alongside the woman worked at the institution’s canteen, potentially facilitating the distribution of drugs to students.

During a search of the male suspect’s residence, the ANF uncovered a significant quantity of hashish, opium, and additional tokens of ice (crystal meth).

The female suspect is believed to have been smuggling drugs from Peshawar, which she then supplied to her accomplice in Islamabad. The male suspect admitted to selling the drugs to university students.

According to details, the arrested woman is from Nowshera, while the male suspect hails from Mansehra. The ANF has registered a case against both suspects under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and further investigations are underway.
