ANF crackdown across multiple cities: drugs recovered, six arrested

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) carried out operations in Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, and Chaman, resulting in the recovery of various types of narcotics and the arrest of six suspects.

According to the ANF spokesperson, 990 narcotic pills were recovered from a foreign national at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi. In another operation, over three kilograms of hashish were recovered from the Sohrab Goth Bus Terminal in Karachi.

In Lahore, ANF recovered 800 grams of methamphetamine (ice) from a courier office and 700 grams from luggage found near Niazi Adda. Additionally, more than 2 kilograms of drugs were seized from a vehicle near Islam Toll Plaza on the outskirts of Islamabad.

In a major operation in Chaman’s Kali Daman area, 240 kilograms of heroin, reportedly hidden for smuggling purposes, were recovered.

The ANF has registered cases against the arrested suspects and initiated further investigation.

CRACKDOWN AGAINST DRUGS

Earlier this month, the ANF had also conducted operations in Peshawar, Lahore, Jamshoro, Hub, and Gilgit-Baltistan. As per details of those operations, at Peshawar Airport, ANF recovered 773 grams of methamphetamine (ice) from a suspect. In Lahore, more than two kilograms of ice were seized from a courier office, while 210 grams of opium were recovered from a suspect at the airport.

In Jamshoro, 36 kilograms of hashish were recovered from a vehicle near the toll plaza. Near Sheikhupura Toll Plaza, six kilograms of opium and 24 kilograms of hashish were seized from another vehicle.

In Hub, two kilograms of ice were recovered from a vehicle near RC Road. In another operation near Lahore’s Shalimar Garden, authorities recovered three kilograms of hashish and 400 grams of ice from a suspect. Near the Islamabad Motorway Toll Plaza, more than one kilogram of hashish was found on a bus. In Gilgit, 100 grams of hashish were seized near Karakoram University Road.
