ANF seizes 25kg drugs in five operations

RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) seized 25 kilograms of drugs and arrested six individuals, while conducting operations across the country, an ANF spokesperson said on Thursday.
Two of the accused were residents of Buner and Mardan, and were headed to Jeddah on flight GF-771, the ANF said. They were detained at Islamabad International Airport after 1,200 of crystal methamphetamine, casually known as ‘ice’.
In another raid that took place at the Burhan Interchange in Attock, 4.8 kilograms of cannabis was retrieved from a car. The accused in this case was a resident of Kohistan.
In two operations at Motorway Toll Plaza, Sheikhupura, a total of 18kg of opium was recovered from two vehicles. Two individuals were arrested hailing from Swabi and Lahore.
The ANF spokesperson also said there was an operation at Multan International Airport. A Qatar-bound passenger of flight QR-617 was arrested on the recovery of 999g crystal meth concealed in his trolley bag. The accused hailed from Gujrat.
Separate cases have been registered against all the accused and further investigation is under process, the ANF said.
