Angry protesters attack K-electric office

KARACHI: Angry residents on Tuesday attacked the K-Electric office in Liaquatabad over prolonged and unannounced power outages

The protesters in sheer frustration of power outages in the hot and humid weather vandalized the office in the FC Area of Liaquatabad and also damaged several parked vehicles.

K-Electric, the city’s power provider, has condemned the attack and the damage to their property.

Gas price increased by Rs250, LPG by Rs1.43

A spokesperson for the K-electric said that they are taking the attack seriously and are investigating the incident.

The police have registered a case against the individuals involved in the vandalism and rioting, with charges including public disturbance and property damage.

Police have also confirmed that several individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident. They are currently conducting raids to identify and apprehend other individuals seen in video footage of the attack.
