Annual grant, transport services announced for visually impaired in Sindh

KARACHI: In a significant move for the visually impaired community, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has unveiled an annual grant of Rs16 million for the Pakistan Blind Association in the province.
The announcement was made during a meeting with a delegation from the association in Karachi today.
In addition to the financial support, Chief Minister Shah revealed plans to provide dedicated transport services for visually impaired individuals in Karachi and Larkana. This initiative aims to facilitate easier access to educational institutions for those in need.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister pledged to engage with the National Database and Registration Authority to secure special cards for the visually impaired, enhancing their access to various services.
The delegation expressed their gratitude towards the Sindh government for implementing a five percent job quota for individuals with disabilities in the province, recognising this as a significant step towards greater inclusion.
