Another spell of monsoon rains to start from July 21

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast more monsoon rains with thunder and strong winds across several parts of the country between July 21 and 25.
According to the Met Office, moist currents from the Arabian Sea will enter Sindh and upper parts of the country, while westerly winds will likely affect upper regions from July 21.
In Karachi and other parts of Sindh, light to heavy rain is expected at isolated places from July 18 to 20 while heavy rainfall likely in most districts of Balochistan between July 19 and 22.
Rain and windstorms is likely from July 21 to 25 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while areas of Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan will experience rain with strong winds expected from July 20 to 25.
In Islamabad and Punjab areas windstorms and rain predicted in most districts from July 20 to 25.
LANDSLIDES
Landslides are feared in Murree, Galiyat, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and other hilly areas from July 21 to 25.
Risk of flash flooding in local streams and rivers of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, and KP, according to the Met Office.
Urban flooding is also possible in low-lying areas of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Galiyat, Kashmir, and Punjab during the same period.
The PMD has advised all relevant departments to stay on alert to handle any emergency situations.
