APS massacre survivor receives British Empire Medal

WEB DESK: Army Public School (APS) carnage survivor Ahmad Nawaz has been conferred with British Empire Medal from King Charles III.
Nawaz who finished his degree last year from University of Oxford took to X formerly Twitter to share news of the award.
“I have received the British Empire Medal from HM King Charles III. Very grateful to have received this honour for my advocacy and commitment to youth empowerment. I look forward to joining HM the King at Buckingham Palace this summer and highlighting youth struggles globally,” he wrote.
APS attack: a tale of an unscathed survivor
Nawaz also added that he was very thankful to all his friends and supporters, without whom such milestones wouldn’t have been possible.
He also made history by becoming the second Pakistani to serve as the president of the Oxford Union.
On December 16 2014, members of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) attacked APS Peshawar leading the death of around 150 people including students and teachers. The tragedy shook the country and is remembered as one of the most horrific attacks in the history.
