Army and Rangers to be deployed for PSL 10

WEB DESK: The Punjab Home Department has requested army and Rangers personnel to ensure security for Pakistan Super League matches in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Multan. A formal request has been sent to the Federal Interior Ministry.
Pakistan Army and Rangers units have been called in to assist the police in providing foolproof security. One wing each of Rangers and two companies each of the Army have been requested. PSL 10 matches are scheduled from April 11 to 18 May 18 while the security personnel will be deployed from April 6 to May 19.

Additionally, commandos from the Special Services Group (SSG) and Army Aviation helicopters will also be deployed at all three venues.
International cricketers and match officials will be participating in PSL 10 and comprehensive security arrangements will be in place for matches, team stay, and travel. Pakistan successfully hosted ICC Champions Trophy in March this year, and has been pulling off PSL matches since the last ten years as well.
