Army chief and CENTCOM commander discuss matters of mutual interest

ISLAMABAD: US CENTCOM Commander Gen Michael E Irwin met with Army Chief Gen Asim Munir and both discussed matters of mutual interest, the regional situation and promotion of defence cooperation.

According to army’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), both sides expressed the desire to further enhance bilateral relations in all fields.

According to the ISPR, Gen Irwin also praised the successes of the Pakistan army in the fight against terrorism.

The ISPR stated that the US commander also acknowledged Pakistan’s continuous efforts for peace and stability in the region.
