ISLAMABAD: The Accountability Court in Islamabad has annulled the arrest warrants for Hassan and Hussain Nawaz, sons of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, after they surrendered themselves in three NAB references, including the Avenfield case.
The court presided over by Judge Nasir Javed Rana, directed its staff to mark the presence of the accused and acknowledged their pleas for acquittal, subsequently issuing a notice to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to present its stance and to clarify if there is any new evidence against them.
The hearing for these acquittal pleas has been scheduled for the next day, emphasizing the urgency of the matter.
Qazi Misbah, the advocate for Hassan and Hussain Nawaz, stressed the necessity of hearing the acquittal pleas by the following day, prompting the court to query about their duration of stay in Pakistan.

The court also appointed Rana Irfan as the representative for Hassan and Hussain Nawaz, upon the request from their lawyer, to ensure their legal representation is continuous.
The court approved bail for Hassan and Hussain Nawaz against surety bonds worth Rs.50,000 each, highlighting a significant move towards their legal relief.
Moreover, the court requested the case records from NAB in the next hearing and concluded the status of Hassan and Hussain Nawaz as absconders in the Panama references, marking a critical point in their ongoing legal battles.
Judge Nasir Javed Rana also suggested allowing some preparation time for the prosecution, considering the appointment of a representative means they might not need to appear personally in the immediate next session.
