Arrested PTI MNAs

ISLAMABAD: Several Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders, who were held under judicial custody at the Parliament Lodges, were released on Monday following orders from the judicial magistrate.

Among those released were Sheikh Waqas Akram, Sher Afzal Marwat, Syed Shah Ahad Ali Shah, Owais Jukkar, Muhammad Ahmed Chatta and other party leaders.

The arrested PTI leaders, including Zia Ullah Khan, Raja Qasir Ghaffar, and others, were charged under section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act and various sections of the Pakistan Penal Code after they were arrested by Islamabad police after the party held a rally in the Sangjani area of Islamabad on September 8.

They were accused of using force against the police, damaging barriers, and snatching equipment from officers, causing disruptions and spreading fear in the area. The police managed to detain 10 individuals, while others escaped.
