ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad local court has temporarily suspended proceedings in the Arshad Sharif murder case due to the absence of key witnesses.
In his written decision from the previous hearing on Wednesday, Judicial Magistrate Abbas Shah noted that the court had received the investigation report under Section 512 of the Pakistan Penal Code regarding the Arshad Sharif murder case on March 16.
Following this, the court had scheduled the summoning of witnesses on April 5 to record their statements. However, none of the witnesses appeared as required. The verdict also emphasized that despite the prosecution being provided with 15 opportunities, the witnesses showed no interest in coming forward to provide their statements.
