ASI murder: Two suspects die in Islamabad police custody

ISLAMABAD: Two suspects involved in the killing of an ASI Sudheer Ahmed Abbasi and a constable were shot dead during a police encounter in the Shehzad Town area, according to the Islamabad Police spokesperson.

Police said the suspects were being taken to their gang’s hideout to recover weapons and arrest their accomplices when their associates opened fire.

 During the crossfire, the two suspects were critically injured by bullets fired by their own group.

Despite being rushed to the hospital, both suspects succumbed to their injuries on the way.

No police personnel were hurt in the incident due to timely response and proper safety measures, the spokesperson added.

MARTYRED ISLAMABAD POLICE ASI LAID TO REST

ASI Sudheer Ahmed Abbasi, who was martyred during a police encounter in Islamabad, was laid to rest in his native village in District Abbottabad with full police honours.

A large number of police officers, local residents, and family members attended his funeral prayers. As his body reached the village, scenes of grief were witnessed, and many were moved to tears. After the burial, the police presented a formal salute to honour the fallen officer.

Sudheer Ahmed, who was posted with the CIA Islamabad, embraced martyrdom last night while bravely fighting armed robbers.

Islamabad Police has announced full financial support for the martyr’s family.

Chaudhry Mujahid Hussain, CCR, paid tribute to the martyred officer, saying the nation will never forget its brave heroes.
