Pakistan-India match to be shown live on large screen

KARACHI: Excitement is at its peak as fans eagerly await for the high-voltage Pakistan-India encounter in the Asia Cup 2025, scheduled for Sunday in Dubai.

In Karachi and several other cities, big screens are being set up to broadcast the much-anticipated match live, giving fans a chance to watch the action in a festive environment.

The Group A match will begin at 6:30 pm Pakistan Standard Time.

At Keamari’s Port Grand, special arrangements have been made to entertain cricket enthusiasts, while private educational institutions are also installing large screens for students and the public.

To add to the atmosphere, a variety of delicious food stalls will be available at different venues.

In Lahore, the match will be live-streamed at Cinepax Cinema at Packages Mall, Lahore.

In Islamabad, the fans can enjoy the live screening of the match at F-9 Fatima Jinnah Park.

Both teams enter the contest with confidence. Defending champions India crushed hosts UAE by nine wickets in their opening match, while Pakistan secured a convincing 93-run win over Oman after recently lifting the tri-nation series in Sharjah.

Traditionally, India-Pakistan clashes are the first to sell out in any multi-nation event. This time, however, the buzz is different. Reports suggest tickets, especially the premium ones priced from Rs 75,000 to over Rs 2.5 lakh, are still available. Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra hinted that high prices, star retirements, and even boycott calls might be dampening interest.

The Pakistan-India rivalry remains the biggest attraction of Asian cricket. Whenever these two teams meet, stadiums overflow, TV ratings skyrocket, and streets empty as millions tune in. This time, fans are expected to gather in large numbers at viewing spots, turning the event into a carnival-like celebration.
