Balochistan Assembly to be dissolved on Aug 12?

QUETTA: The Balochistan Assembly is set to be dissolved as it concludes its term on Saturday.
According to sources, Balochistan Chief Minister (CM) Abdul Qudous Bizenjo will forward the official proposal for the assembly’s dissolution to the Governor on August 12. Resultantly, efforts to look for a suitable caretaker chief minister for Balochistan have expedited, as reported by the sources.
The sources said that a meeting took place in Islamabad where Balochistan National Party (BNP) President Sardar Akhtar Mengal and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman engaged in discussions regarding the selection of the interim CM. So far, there was no consensus on the nomination of the caretaker chief minister.

Meanwhile, the sources told that the opposition led by JUI has formed a three-member committee to finalise the name of interim CM. The committee included opposition leader Malik Sikandar Advocate, Maulana Abdul Wasey and provincial Assembly member Mir Younas Aziz Zehri.
Like the National Assembly (NA), Balochistan Assembly held its inaugural session on August 13, 2018, following its election in the July 25 vote. Therefore, its five-year term is set to expire on Saturday, August 12.
Earlier NA was dissolved on August 9 by President Arif Alvi, on the advice of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, three days before of its term completion.
