ISLAMABAD: The launch of a fifth-generation war through a new disinformation campaign called the Balochistan Studies Project has raised red flags within Pakistan’s security and academic circles
The launch of the “Project” by Washington-based think tank Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), is believed to be a collaboration between Indian and Israeli interests to create ethnic and sectarianism in Balochistan.
The Washington-based think tank, a front for Israeli spy agency Mosad, is known for promoting highly selective, partisan narratives that often align with the interests of states hostile to Pakistan.
The group recently appointed Mir Yar Baloch, a known supporter of the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), as its Special Advisor for the new initiative.
Security analysts describe Mir Yar Baloch as a “digital mouthpiece”, widely believed to be backed by Indian intelligence agency RAW and thrives on conflict not resolution.
His online presence, they say, is part of a broader hybrid warfare campaign to stir unrest in Balochistan by faking popular support for separatism.
This effort reflects how New Delhi and Tel Aviv are striving to weaken Pakistan from within.
“This is not a scholarship, it’s sabotage,” said a senior official. “Giving a platform to someone like Mir Yar Baloch reveals the true intent of this campaign.”
The real people of Balochistan desire peace, development, and prosperity as integrated citizens of Pakistan.
They face challenges, which the state and its people are committed to resolving through dialogue and development, he said.
