Ban imposed on publishing cipher case proceedings in print, electronic and social media

ISLAMABAD: The Special Court operating under the Official Secrets Act has implemented a stringent prohibition on the dissemination of Cipher case proceedings through print, electronic, and social media channels.

Earlier today, the special court approved the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) plea to conduct an in-camera hearing of former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan and Vice-Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi in the cipher case.

The court has issued a directive to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) to diligently enforce the court order and take decisive action against any individuals or entities found in violation.
