Big relief: Nawaz Sharif acquitted in Al-Azizia reference case

ISLAMABAD: On Tuesday, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) acquitted the former Prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo, in the Al-Azizia reference case.

Earlier, on November 29, the IHC acquitted Nawaz in the Avenfield reference case after the NAB took back the appeal filed against him.

The verdict was announced by a two-judge bench, led by Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb. The decision, previously reserved earlier in the day, came during the hearing of Nawaz Sharif’s appeal against his conviction in the Al-Azizia reference case.
