“I am neither a minister nor a government official, so this is not an official trip or a government representation,” he stated.
WHAT IS THE NATIONAL PRAYER BREAKFAST?
Held annually on the first Thursday of February in Washington, D.C., the National Prayer Breakfast brings together over 3,500 attendees from across the world, including US leaders, diplomats, religious figures, and missionaries.
This annual event, where prayer, politics, and business intersect, has become a staple for American presidents who attend and offer a few words. Dwight D. Eisenhower – who occupied the White House from 1953-1961 — was the first president to attend. And all of his successors have followed suit.
The prestigious two-day event is more than just a breakfast; it features a series of meetings, forums, luncheons, and dinners where leaders engage in discussions and prayers for the nation. Representatives from over 100 countries participate in this high-profile gathering.
