Bisham attack planned in Afghanistan: interior minister

LAHORE: Interior minister Mohsin Naqvi on Sunday said that the Bisham attack in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that killed five Chinese engines was planned in Afghanistan.

While addressing a press conference in Lahore, Naqvi stated that the attack was intended to target Chinese citizens. He also noted that the Pakistani government has raised this matter with the Afghan interim government.

He added that Pakistan has increased security measures at our borders. ‘Every conceivable measure is being implemented to safeguard Chinese citizens’, said Naqvi.

He stressed the profound importance of the relationship between China and Pakistan to us, noting mutual support across multiple platforms and joint efforts towards mutual improvement.
