Blackouts reported in the Rawalpindi, Islamabad


Blackouts were reported in Islamabad and Rawalpindi after missile attacks by India on several military airbases across Pakistan.

ISLAMABAD: Blackouts have been reported in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi after missile attacks by India on several military airbases across Pakistan, including the Nur Khan airbase in Rawalpindi, in early hours of Saturday.

The Deputy Commissioner of Rawalpindi appealed to the public not to panic. He stated that the situation was “under control” and being reveiwed.

Residents were advised to avoid unnecessary travel and refrain from sharing unverified information on social media.

Despite the warnings, several citizens gathered outside the Nur Khan airbase, waving Pakistani flags and chanting slogans in support of the Pakistan army.

Participants expressed their solidarity with the military, chanting against India and the hardliner, Hindu-nationalist Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.

Similar demonstrations were reported in Askara 11, Lahore, where residents voiced their support for the Pakistan army. They chanted ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ and ‘Pak Army Zindabad’.
