Blast reported in canteen of Sindh High Court’s new barroom

KARACHI: A powerful explosion rocked the new bar room of the Sindh High Court (SHC) early on Wednesday, causing significant damage to the premises.

The blast shattered the windows of the room and also inflicted substantial damage to the walls of the SHC bar room.

Heavy rain lashes Islamabad

According to initial reports, the explosion appears to have been caused by a gas leak in the cantonment. In response to the incident, the security team of the SHC promptly called in the bomb disposal squad to ensure the area was safe and to investigate the exact cause of the explosion.

No casualties have been reported so far, but the incident has raised concerns over the safety measures in place at the court. Further investigations are ongoing.
