Brace for another round of petrol price hike

ISLAMABAD: Pakistanis are bracing themselves for another surge in petroleum prices during the last 15 days of September, as ex-refinery prices continue to rise.

Due to the recent increase in ex-refinery prices, it is anticipated that the cost of petrol will climb by Rs 9.70 per liter, with diesel prices potentially increasing by Rs 11.

As of the latest data, the ex-refinery price of petrol stands at Rs 238.29, while diesel is priced at Rs 237.61.

Government jacks up petroleum prices by Rs 14.91

A decision regarding the adjustment of petroleum product prices will be made by the caretaker government on September 15.

The government has opted to augment the margin for petrol and diesel by Rs 1.87 per liter for Oil Marketing Companies (OMC), with an initial increase of Rs 0.47 per liter for OMCs.
