Budget allocation: Provincial breakdown and sectoral distribution


ISLAMABAD:The federal government revealed its budget allocation plans, revealing substantial funds designated for various provinces and sectors.

As per the budget documents, the federation intends to distribute a total of Rs7.438 trillion to the provinces. Punjab is allocated Rs3.695 trillion, Sindh will receive over Rs1.853 trillion, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) is slated to obtain Rs1.221 trillion.

Meanwhile, Balochistan is scheduled to receive Rs667 billion through the National Finance Commission (NFC) mechanism.

Significant allocations have been proposed for key sectors and divisions. The Industries and Production sector is slated to receive more than Rs75.93 billion, while the Information and Broadcasting sector is allocated over Rs5.32 billion.

Similarly, the Information Technology and telecommunication sector is proposed to receive more than Rs40.12 billion, followed by the Interior division with over Rs15.36 billion.

The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) will receive more than Rs20.41 billion.

A substantial portion of the budget is directed towards security and defense, with over Rs232 billion allocated for the Combined Civil Armed Forces.

The energy sector is also slated to receive more than Rs681 billion rupees, while the Petroleum division is proposed to obtain over Rs19.30 billion. Meanwhile, the Geological Survey of Pakistan is earmarked to receive more than Rs1.10 billion.

In terms of legal and judicial affairs, allocations include over Rs8.66 billion for the Law and Justice department. More than Rs32.49 million for the Federal Judicial Academy, and over Rs92.83 million for the Federal Shariat Court.

Other sectors, including food security and research, health services, support for overseas Pakistanis and human resources development, parliamentary affairs, as well as planning, development, and special initiatives, have also received substantial allocations.

The railway department is allocated more than Rs64.43 billion, while the Science and Technology division is proposed to receive over Rs14.41 billion.

The Water Resources ministry is earmarked to obtain more than Rs3.88 billion, while the religious affairs ministry is proposed to receive over Rs1.95 billion.
