ISLAMABAD: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has taken a significant step to improve the safety of aircraft and air travel by introducing an advanced bird repellant system at the country’s three main airports.
The CAA has started the process of inviting bids, with tender applications set to open on September 28, as confirmed by an official spokesperson.
Lahore Airport will be the first to receive this new system. Implementing the system at Islamabad and Karachi airports will follow, based on the effectiveness of the one in Lahore, according to the CAA spokesperson.
CAA officials have noted that birds are often drawn to Karachi and Lahore airports due to trash and pollution around the airports, creating a significant challenge for flight safety.
