CAA refutes claims of polio vaccination card requirement

polio vaccination card claim refuted by CAA

ISLAMABAD: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued a clarification, refuting any claims of imposing a polio vaccination card or certificate requirement for passengers.

The CAA has also urged the public to exercise caution when encountering online offers that request money or sensitive information related to polio vaccination cards. They have advised to verify the authenticity of any such offers before taking any action.

NADRA says no instructions issued on international travel

Vaccination requirements can vary depending on the country of destination and airlines. The CAA emphasised that passengers should directly contact the airline they are travelling with, and to ask about the individual health policies of different destinations. This will effectively combat fraudulent schemes and misinformation.

This statement has been issued in response to circulating reports of a supposed new travel requirement introduced by the CAA mandating the checking of polio vaccination cards for all passengers travelling abroad.

The confusion was sparked because of an internal correspondence from Islamabad Airport, which has since been canceled. It was stressed that it was never intended to serve as a polio travel advisory.

Both NADRA and now CAA have refuted this.

NADRA specified that it is only authorised to issue polio vaccination certificates and holds no jurisdiction on immigration-related matters.
