Cadet martyred during attack on mosque in Lakki Marwat: ISPR

ISLAMABAD: A terrorist attack on a mosque in Lakki Marwat during evening prayers was foiled by Cadet Arif Ullah who bravely confronted the attackers, ultimately sacrificing his life.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Cadet Arif Ullah saved the lives of many worshippers in his courageous fight.

“The cowardly assault on worshippers reflects the true ideology of these Khawarij,” the ISPR said, adding that such sacrifices strengthen the nation’s resolve to eradicate terrorism.

The 19-year-old cadet, a trainee at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Kakul, was visiting his hometown when he faced the attackers.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the attack, praising Cadet Arif’s bravery and sacrifice, stating, “Our nation salutes Cadet Arif Ullah, who gave his life to protect worshippers.”

President Asif Ali Zardari also condemned the attack, calling it a cowardly and un-Islamic act.

He offered prayers for the martyr and his family, emphasizing that “our faith does not condone attacks on places of worship.”

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to Cadet Arif Ullah, lauding his courage and expressing condolences, noting that “Arif Ullah set an example of bravery, showing true patriotism and loyalty to his homeland.”

“The Pakistani nation, standing firmly alongside its armed forces, is determined to continue fighting terrorism until it is fully eradicated,” he said.
