Captain among seven soldiers martyred in Lakki Marwat IED blast: ISPR

ISLAMABAD: At least seven army men including a captain were martyred in an improvised explosive device (IED) attack in Lakki Marwat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

“A vehicle of security forces was hit by an IED in Lakki Marwat, resulting in the martyrdom of Captain Muhammad Faraz Ilyas and six other soldiers,” the army’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said on Sunday.

The martyred also include Subedar Major Muhammad Nazir, Lance Naik Muhammad Anwar, Lance Naik Hussain Ali, Sepoy Asadullah, Sepoy Manzoor Hussain and Sepoy Rashid Mehmood.

“A clearance operation is under way to eliminate the terrorists involved in the incident. Security forces are committed to eradicating terrorism from the country and bringing the perpetrators to justice,” the ISPR said.
