Car crash claims lives of five family members in Gilgit

GILGIT: At least five people were killed and one injured in a road accident on the Naltar Expressway near Gilgit on Wednesday.
According to rescue sources, the motorcar crashed just a few kilometres from Gilgit. Upon receiving the distress call, rescue teams from Gilgit and Danyore promptly dispatched ambulances to the scene. The deceased were transported to PHQ Hospital Gilgit via rescue ambulances. Initial reports indicate that the victims included two women, two children, and one man, all residents of the Majini Mohalla area in Gilgit.
Rescue 1122 sources confirmed that all the victims were members of the same family. The family was returning from an Eid outing in the picturesque valley of Naltar.

Among the deceased are Muhammad Arif, son of Sher Ali, a resident of Majini Mohallah; Siara Bano, wife of Rizwan Ali, a resident of Maherbanpura; Zaryab Fatima, wife of Muhammad Arif; Kaneez Zainab, daughter of Muhammad Arif; Zahra, daughter of Muhammad Arif. Kamran Ali, son of Rizwan Ali, a resident of Maherbanpura was injured.

Gilgit-Baltistan CM Mourns Naltar Tragic Accident
Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Haji Gulbar Khan expressed deep sorrow and grief over the tragic accident in Naltar. He extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed souls.
The chief minister noted that a member of this family, Captain Zameer Shaheed, had previously sacrificed his life in the defence of the country. He instructed the G-B health secretary to ensure that the injured receive the best possible medical care.
