Charsadda DPO stripped of rank following harassment accusations

PESHAWAR: The spokesperson for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police issued a clarification regarding the press conference held by the wife of Peshawar resident Muhammad Arshad stating that the Inspector General had issued orders to immediately remove the senior police officer in question from field duty and report to the Central Police Office, following the complaint filed by the complainant.

Furthermore, a high-level inquiry committee was established to investigate the allegations made against the officer and was instructed to present its report as soon as possible.

The spokesperson further clarified that in light of the allegations of assault made by the complainant during the press conference, a First Information Report (FIR) had been duly registered at the Chamkani Police Station in Peshawar against the mentioned police officer, fulfilling all legal requirements under the relevant sections of the law.

“No one is above the law, and the process of reward and punishment within the police force will continue at all costs,” according to KP police spox.
