Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa refutes Rawalpindi Commissioner’s claims

WEB DESK: In a swift and assertive response, Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa addressed the allegations raised by Rawalpindi Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chatta, stating, “It is your right to make claims, but give evidence.”
Emphasising the importance of substantiating claims with concrete proof, Justice Isa underscored the need for accountability in such matters.
“People make baseless allegations,” remarked Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, dismissing the accusations as unfounded. He asserted, “These are baseless accusations; there is no truth in them. Tomorrow someone will be accused of theft; if it is right to accuse, then also present the evidence. Tomorrow someone will be accused of theft or murder.”
The backdrop of these developments includes the resignation of Commissioner Rawalpindi Liaquat Ali Chatta from his post, citing election irregularities. Chatta claimed, we turned the candidate’s lead of 70,000 into a defeat.
He further expressed a sense of responsibility for the alleged misconduct, advocating for consequences for all involved, including himself. “Those who are involved in this, including me, should be punished,” Chatta said.
