ISLAMABAD: Chinese Foreign Minister will arrive in Pakistan on August 21 (Thursday) to attend the sixth round of the Pakistan-China Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue.
The meeting will be co-chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and the Chinese Foreign Minister.
According to officials, both sides will reaffirm their commitment to deepening the “all-weather strategic partnership” between Pakistan and China.
The two countries are also expected to reiterate their support for each other on core national interests.

The talks will focus on strengthening economic and trade cooperation while also reviewing progress on ongoing projects.
The two foreign ministers will also exchange views on regional peace, development, and stability, reaffirming their resolve to work closely on common challenges.
The Chinese Foreign Minister is currently in India to hold talks on the border dispute between the two countries. From New Delhi, he will fly directly to Islamabad.
China’s support proved crucial for Pakistan during the recent four-day conflict with India. While Beijing did not take part directly, its J-10C fighter jets and PL-15 beyond-visual-range missiles enabled Pakistan to shoot down six Indian aircraft, including French-made Rafales.
Beijing also extended strong diplomatic backing to Islamabad after the Pahalgam attack, endorsing Pakistan’s call for a third-party investigation into the incident that pushed both nuclear-armed nations close to all-out war.
Amid the tense regional environment, both sides are expected to discuss ways to deepen strategic cooperation. Diplomatic contacts between Pakistan and China have grown significantly in recent months.
During the visit, officials are also likely to finalise the agenda for Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s upcoming trip to China. The premier is expected to travel later this month to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit and hold bilateral talks with the Chinese leadership.
