CJ Isa takes notice of IHC judges’ letter, hearing on Wednesday

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa has taken notice of a letter penned by Islamabad High Court (IHC) Judges, that has already garnered significant attention within the legal fraternity. CJ Isa has convened a seven-member larger bench to address the matter.

These judges had raised concerns about the purported involvement of intelligence agencies in judicial matters.
Leading the seven-member bench himself, CJ Isa is set to preside over proceedings concerning the contents of the judges’ letter. Joining him on the bench are esteemed jurists Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, Justice Yahya Khan Afridi, and Justice Jamal Khan Mandakhil, Justice Athar Minullah, Justice Musrat Hilali, and Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan.
The court has scheduled a hearing at 11:30 AM on Wednesday (April 3) to hear the case.
Govt announces inquiry commission to probe IHC judges’ letter
Earlier, the federal government has designated former chief justice Tasadduq Jilani as the chairman of the inquiry commission tasked with investigating the letter penned by six judges of the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
