CJCS pays tribute to martyrs on Defence day

RAWALPINDI: The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said today that Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza has paid tribute to martyrs.

According to the ISPR, on the occasion of Defence day, Army Chief General Asim Munir Ahmed and the Pakistan Army also honoured the martyrs and their families.

ISPR said that General Mirza emphasised that on September 6, 1965, the nation’s resolute determination to safeguard its borders was demonstrated, with numerous brave soldiers laying down their lives to fortify the nation’s defence.

“Today, the entire nation pays homage to these sacrifices,” General Mirza added.

Meanwhile, General Mirza also underscored the nation’s indebtedness to all martyrs, who laid down their lives to elevate the national flag. He said that the armed forces remain unwavering in their commitment to defending the homeland against all threats.

General Mirza said that any endeavor to harm Pakistan will be met with a resolute response, the ISPR reported.
