CJP begins chamber work ahead of retirement

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Qazi Faez Isa on Tuesday has begun working in chambers focusing on writing pending judgments, just three days prior to his retirement. In his absence, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah has taken charge of Bench No. 1 in the Supreme Court.

Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa is set to retire on Friday, October 25.

Appointment of new CJP: Special Parliamentary committee meets today, PTI to boycott

As his retirement approaches, the Parliamentary Committee will meet today to deliberate on the appointment of the next Chief Justice of Pakistan.

Three senior judges are being considered for the position, with a final decision expected soon.

The CJP would resume routine work on Thursday, they informed.
