To enforce this ban effectively, legal actions will be taken against vehicles found in violation within the city.

This proactive measure aligns with the government’s commitment to protect the environment and reduce smog during the winter months. By limiting the entry of such vehicles, the authorities hope to make a significant impact on air quality and overall environmental health.

The spokesperson also urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in this endeavor, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts to combat smog.

Reports indicate that a substantial portion of the smog issue in Islamabad is caused by smoke-emitting vehicles, brick kilns, and the burning of crop residues.

By addressing the root causes, this temporary ban on smoke-emitting vehicles contributes to a cleaner and healthier environment for everyone in the city.
