LAHORE: Caretaker Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Mohsin Naqvi has expressed his dismay over the dismal services being offered at Mayo hospital Lahore during his visit to monitor its management and operations on Thursday.
Naqvi, who aspires to bring it ‘at par with the Aga Khan Hospital’, observed the deficiencies that needed to be addressed in various areas, particularly the lack of medicines.
“I have gone to Shahdara. The conditions of hospitals there is unimaginably bad” he said.
The acting CM also cited an incident where a child in need of a ventilator could not receive one, despite the availability of free services at Children’s Hospital.
He committed to bring about a change in the conditions of hospitals in Lahore and instructed relevant authorities to keep the welfare of the patients above everything else.
