ISLAMABAD: It has decided to close CNG stations across Pakistan for two months to accommodate domestic users during the harsh winter months.
According to sources, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has advised that all CNG stations be closed from December 1, 2024, to January 31, 2025.
Because of this advise and due to anticipated severe winter conditions, a decision has been made to close CNG stations across Pakistan for two months, from December to January.
Twin cities face low gas pressure as SNGPL claims full supply
During this period, industries that generate electricity using natural gas will also experience a supply cut.
The move aims to ensure an uninterrupted gas supply for domestic users throughout the winter. Consequently, gas supply to power-generating units and captive power stations across all four provinces will be halted from December 2024 to January 2025. Industries will instead rely on electricity from power companies.
