COAS visits LoC, celebrates Eid with troops

WEB DESK: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited forward posts along the Line of Control (LoC) on Eid-ul-Adha, spending the occasion with troops stationed at the frontline, the military’s media wing said on Saturday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief offered Eid prayers with soldiers and later led special prayers for Pakistan’s prosperity and the martyrs’ elevated status. He commended the troops for their professionalism, high morale, and unwavering commitment to defending the country.

COAS praised the soldiers’ sacrifices, particularly for spending Eid away from their families while performing their national duty. He also lauded formations for their exemplary performance in counter-terrorism operations, including Operation Bunyan Marsous, and paid tribute to martyrs and veterans for their sacrifices.

The COAS expressed satisfaction over Pakistan’s swift response to India’s ceasefire violations and reiterated the military’s readiness to counter any aggression. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s full support for Kashmiris’ struggle against Indian occupation and stressed that the Kashmir dispute must be resolved as per UN Security Council resolutions.

Upon arrival, the army chief was received by the Rawalpindi Corps Commander.
