COAS vows to thwart enemy designs, assures full support to KP police

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff Gen Syed Asim Munir has said that the Pakistan Army will thwart all ill designs of the enemy and continue to provide technical support to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Gen Asim Munir visited the Wana area of South Waziristan, where he received a detailed briefing on the current security situation, ongoing counter-terrorism operations, and development projects.

During his visit, the army chief met with officers and soldiers. He praised their preparedness and high morale in countering the nefarious intentions of enemy forces.

He reiterated the Pakistan Army’s commitment to leaving no stone unturned in defeating the enemy and its facilitators. Gen Munir paid tribute to the selfless sacrifices of security forces and law enforcement agencies for ensuring the country’s security. He also vowed to extend technical assistance and full cooperation to law enforcement agencies, including the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police.

Gen Asim Munir also acknowledged the significant role of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in maintaining peace and advancing various projects under the South Waziristan Integrated Development Plan.

He assured the full support of the Pakistan Army for the development and prosperity of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The army chief expressed his gratitude to the tribal elders for their unwavering support in the fight against terrorism and their cooperation with the Pakistan Army.

While in Wana, the army chief placed a wreath at the martyrs’ memorial. Upon his arrival, he was warmly welcomed by the Corps Commander Peshawar.
