Cold, chilly weather to prevail across Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Cold and dry weather is expected to prevail in most parts of the country over the next 12 hours, while hilly areas are likely to remain very cold and partly cloudy.
Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz, during an appearance on Hum News program Subah Se Aage, provided an overview of the current weather conditions.
He stated that the cold weather will continue across Pakistan, with upper regions experiencing particularly intense cold. Snowfall in mountainous areas has further contributed to the drop in temperatures.
Karachi is also under the grip of a steady cold wave, with chilly conditions expected to persist. In Sindh, the Tharparkar district has seen an increase in cold intensity, while Umerkot is also experiencing sustained low temperatures.
Residents of Islamabad are facing severe cold, with the Met Department predicting the cold wave to persist for the next 2-4 days.
According to the department, the weather in the twin cities and most parts of the country is expected to remain extremely cold and dry, with mountainous regions experiencing particularly harsh conditions.
Sardar Sarfraz highlighted that snowfall this season has been notably below average.
Cloudy weather with light rain and snowfall over mountains is expected in Northwestern Balochistan during the night.
Light fog may develop in parts of central and southern Punjab during the night hours.

Islamabad and Quetta three degrees centigrade, Lahore eight, Karachi thirteen, Peshawar and Murree two, Gilgit one and Muzaffarabad five degrees centigrade.
