Sharjeel Memon slams PTI at inauguration ceremony
KARACHI: A new Command and Control Center has been established at the Sindh Mass Transit Authority (SMTA). Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and member of Sindh Assembly Sharjeel Memon inaugurated the center on Tuesday.
With the new system in place, the staff of the People’s Bus Service will be monitored in real time. “If higher fares are being charged or the tickets are not given to the passengers after taking the fare from them, will all be seen,” Memon said, adding that the new system has been installed for ensuring safety and recovery of lost items.
Speaking on the protest rally announced by the opposition party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Memon said that “The country’s economy has improved. The stock market is going up. PTI cannot digest this development”.
He said that the events of May 9 were a tragedy in the history of Pakistan, and the “PTI wants to repeat it”. He said that every time, PTI came to Islamabad to protest, it was never peaceful. “PTI wants anarchy in the country,” Memon added.
He said that for the first time Ali Amin Gandapur brought “masked protestors” with him. The minister alleged that state machinery of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is being used for protests by Chief Minister Gandapur.
“PTI workers are being misled. Violence is not the solution to anything. No one can win from the state,” Memon said, adding, “Nothing can be won by force of gun”.
He said certain elements seek to create instability in the country, and that PTI, as a “hostage-taking” group, is not only holding the people hostage but also fueling chaos for their own agenda.
