Compensation announced for Bajaur blast victims

Islamabad – Finance Minister Ishaq Dar announced Friday that compensation will be provided to the victims of the tragic Bajaur blast.
The explosion occurred last month during the workers’ convention of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) in Khar tehsil, Bajaur district, a town bordering Afghanistan, resulting in the loss of over 50 lives and leaving numerous others injured.

In a statement delivered on the floor of the Senate, Ishaq Dar conveyed that, in response to the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the families affected by the Bajaur blast will receive compensation.
The heirs of the martyred individuals will be granted Rs 2 million each, while those severely injured will be provided with Rs 700,000 each, and those with minor injuries will receive Rs 300,000 each.
Prior to this announcement, JUI-F and PDM chief, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, also declared financial assistance for the families of the martyred JUI-F workers, offering Rs 500,000 for each family, and Rs 300,000 for the wounded activists.
