Couple shot dead in Capital

ISLAMABAD: A couple was gunned down in broad daylight in Sector I-11 of Islamabad on Saturday.

The victims were identified as Zafar Iqbal and Rehana Sardar, who were from Rawalpindi. Their two-year-old child was also present at the time of the shooting, but he was unharmed.

The shooting took place near the I-11 Super Store. Police said that two men opened fire on the couple, killing them instantly. The suspects then fled the scene.

Police said that the attackers were the brother and nephew of the woman, but the motive for the murders is still unclear.

The bodies of the victims have been taken to the hospital for postmortem. Police have registered a case against the suspects and are conducting raids to arrest them. INP
